Nathaniel Ober is a multimedia sound artist whose work explores the relationships of human perception and natural phenomena through immersive multi-sensory installations. He engages audiences by sharing listening experiences from the natural world through processes of sonification and live amplification. Ober’s work often connects scientific data such as astrophysics and cosmology with the healing properties of sound found in ancient ritual in order to investigate and enrich our understanding of the universe.

His work has been featured nationally at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, and internationally at the Parque Explora in Medellín Colombia, Arteles Creative Center in Finland as well as ISEA (International Symposium on Electronic Art). From 2009–2013 Nathaniel was program director of multimedia and graphic design at two campuses in India, and Sri Lanka.

Ober holds an MFA from the Digital Arts and New Media program at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design.
